Davao City to Digos City bus guide

Davao City to Digos City covers 53 kilometers south along the coastal national highway, from Davao City into Davao del Sur. It is the most heavily served short corridor out of Davao, with three operators running air-conditioned buses at the same price.

Route overview and terminal information

Buses leave the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal in Ecoland and terminate at Digos City. Mindanao Star carries the bulk of the service; Davao Metro Shuttle and Yellow Bus Line each list a pair of early-morning departures.

  • Average travel time: 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, with operators posting 1 hour 15 minutes.
  • Departures: Mindanao Star runs 45 trips a day, from midnight through to 10:00 PM. Davao Metro Shuttle adds 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM; Yellow Bus Line adds 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
  • Fares: A flat P125.00 air-conditioned fare across all three operators.
  • Busiest window: Between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM the gaps narrow to as little as 10 minutes.

Where the bus stops

The corridor is short enough that the stop list is too: Toril, then Santa Cruz, then Digos City. Toril is still within Davao City, at its southern end, and is a common boarding point for passengers who live on that side rather than travelling out to Ecoland.

Practical travel tips

  • Any southbound bus will do: Services to General Santos, Koronadal, Kidapawan, and Malita all pass through Digos. If no Digos-only bus is loading, take whichever southbound bus is.
  • Board at Toril if it is closer: Passengers in southern Davao City often save time by joining at Toril rather than backtracking to the Ecoland terminal.
  • Digos is a junction: The highway splits at Digos - one road continues south to General Santos and Malita, the other turns inland to Bansalan, Makilala, and Kidapawan. It is the natural transfer point for either direction.
  • No advance booking needed: With departures through the night and gaps of 30 minutes or less for most of the day, turning up at the terminal is enough.

Travel advice

Almost every southbound long-haul bus out of Davao passes through Digos, so the Digos-only services listed here are not your only option - a General Santos, Koronadal, or Kidapawan bus will drop you there too. Buses run through the night, with the heaviest concentration between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
